Hi. I'm Jenni Cathcart. Peterborough is in a tough spot. Taxes have increased more than 25% in four years, we've lost 750 jobs and the homeless population has doubled. It is time for a CHANGE. That's why I'm running for City Council in Town Ward to revitalize downtown, lower taxes and create jobs.

A vibrant downtown starts with the basics. I'll fight for a tax break that gives local businesses a leg up over big-box stores, real bylaw enforcement that holds property owners accountable for maintaining lots and buildings, free two-hour parking downtown year-round, and the road repair and garbage pick-up we're already paying for.

A thriving downtown is one where people feel comfortable walking, shopping, and spending time. I'll push for a visible street-level outreach and safety presence, real solutions that move unhoused neighbours into stable housing instead of leaving the problem unaddressed, and I'll work to decentralize the concentration of shelters and services so no single neighbourhood carries the whole burden.

A healthy downtown is a place more people can call home. I'll champion downtown housing, starting with development of the Baskin-Robbins site, by exploring incentives for developments that support mixed-income housing.
Growing Peterborough's Economy
More jobs and investment, less pressure on your taxes.
Peterborough needs new jobs and new investment, not just new policies. I'll push to finally attract tenants for the Clean Tech business park, pursue a boundary expansion deal with Cavan Monaghan to create room for new businesses, and support developing our regional airport to its full potential, all ways to grow our tax base without leaning harder on homeowners.

Jenni Cathcart, MBA, is a proven business leader who brings 25 years of experience solving complex challenges in transportation, housing, and energy for organizations like GM, Deloitte, and Trek Bicycle, where she became the first woman ever named a bicycle product manager in the company's history. She has the financial know-how, risk assessment skills, and relationship-building instincts needed to make things happen.
A community builder and long-time volunteer, Jenni has served on boards for bicycle advocacy, volunteered as a Scouts leader, and fundraised for cancer research. She's completed seven marathons and an Ironman triathlon, and says raising three kids while managing a career built even more resilience. She's a natural connector who values open communication and respects diverse perspectives.
Jenni and her family proudly call Peterborough their "Forever Home" because of the welcoming community, great schools, vibrant art scene, and access to outdoor adventures.
